The alarm is going off! Wake UP!!

I know of too many black people who in the past 5 years have been killed, shot, had a gun pulled on them, beaten, in prison, overdosed on drugs, had a baby under the age of 18, had a baby out of marriage, had an abortion(s), raped, in an abusive relationship, dropped out of HIGH SCHOOL, selling drugs, and this list is getting so long it's sickening. My question is...when will YOU wake up and realize that nobody is promised tomorrow. Proverbs 27:1 says "BOAST not thyself to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." This guy who goes by the name "Prophet" did a spoken word and he said, "My best-friend's cousin had plans. In less than 24 hours she was going to see her 20th birthday, but her boyfriend shot her in the head and threw her out of a 2nd story window." NOBODY knows when they're going to see that less than 24 hours. You don't when you're on your last week, or your last day.

MY PEOPLE, MY PEOPLE! Can't you see, we're headed for self destruction! Listen my brother, my sister...nothing is so bad that you have to kill somebody over, or even fight. It's senseless violence. Why are we stealing from each other? WHY DO WE HATE OURSELVES!? Why are our black men and women NOT treating each other like the Kings and Queens we are? Why aren't we loving each other? WHERE DID WE GO WRONG!? Why do we have so much low self-esteem in the black community that most of us feel like we can never amount to anything?? WHY are we selling crack to each other, and each others mothers and fathers and not even thinking about or caring if they O.D.??

Where are OUR positive role models? Not the, show everything except the nipple Beyonce's and Rihanna's, not the "when I get to Hell Lord knows I'm gonna fry" Young Jeezy's, not the drink till you fall, sex you up and all Music artists. I'm talking about your everyday hard working mothers and fathers setting the RIGHT example. The Corinne Bailey Rae's and Janelle Monae's showing you it CAN be done without degrading yourself and being all sexed up on stage. The black entrepreneur giving back to the kids in the community they grew up in.

Are you going to wake up when the alarm first goes off? Or will you hit the "snooze" button a couple of times? I truly believe that God is trying to get our attention. He's allowing a lot of things to happen--this world is becoming more disrespectful and disobedient to God's word! Do you think it's safe to say that God has hit the snooze button on the world [and those people who are of the world]? Why or why not? Satan has really been working hard lately, but that's because a lot of people refuse to submit to God's will. Think about it. The economy is terrible, there are famines, disastrous earthquakes, floods, plane crashes, volcano eruptions, STD epidemics there's so much going on. Hold up, I wanna stop and talk about abortions too. In the year 2006, blacks made up 57% of abortions in Georgia, 57% !! We only make up 30% of the population. And this is just in Georgia alone. Listen, if you aren't ready for a baby, and don't want to take extra precautions to make sure you don't get pregnant, then you shouldn't be having sex. If you get pregnant, own up to it. You made your bed and you should lay in it. Besides, sex is best enjoyed when you're married anyway. Don't add on to His commands making it more strict than it really is. God said you shouldn't have sex outside of marriage, He didn't say you can NEVER have sex.

I just really hope that this reaches the masses and I pray that change is coming. I pray that, there will be a great awakening in Christ, and I pray that... God will show mercy on the world. I pray that...people will realize that living for God is NOT as hard as they're making it. I pray that people will learn not to add on to His commands. I pray that more people who are my age will allow the love of Christ to ignite their life on fire and become passionate for Him. It's never too late to repent, and start over. God's mercy is brand new everyday, and He is waiting for you to leave the past behind, and move forward with Him. So before your tomorrow is today, leave the nonsense behind and follow Christ the rest of the way.

"So much grainy teenage photographs on the evening news, when every where's violence, silently I go. Love's on its way, I hope it won't be too late." -Corinne Bailey Rae
